The 83rd Academy Awards Red Carpet

Here are 11 of my favorite looks from the red carpet of the Oscars. There were many great looks-- and wins I might add. Alice in Wonderland for best costume design as expected! Colleen Atwood, you are crazy amazing!!! Okay, back to the red carpet before I get sidetracked by Alice in Wonderland and Colleen Atwood, haha! :]

Natalie Portman

She won best actress and pulled off looking amazing on the red carpet! It's hard to dress up when you're pregnant but she looks gorgeous in this Rodarte gown!

 Sandra Bullock

She looked fabulous in this red Vera Wang gown! The dress hugged her in all the right places. Seriously stunning!

Jennifer Hudson

She's on my best dressed list again! She's the image of elegance in this gown by Versace. Great, great color!

Mila Kunis

Purple and Elie Saab. Need I say more? She looks breathtaking!

Halle Berry

This lady looked stunning in a crystal encrusted gown by Marchesa! Fab hair too!

Mandy Moore

We have another nude, crystal encrusted gown. This time it's by Monique Lhuillier (FIlipino pride!!). Mandy looks unbelievably chic in this dress!

Nicole Kidman

Nicole looked lovely in this couture gown by Christian Dior! I don't really like her hair but I absolutely love the gown!

Hailee Steinfeld

The 14 yr old looked beyond adorable in this Marchesa gown! Apparently, she even helped design the dress! How cute!!

Cate Blanchett

Again we see Givenchy Couture on the red carpet! Cate looks great in this gown! It's always nice seeing lovely couture gowns on the red carpet. :]

Amy Adams

I love this color on her! She wore a form-fitting gown by L'Wren Scott. I also love the soft waves of her hair! Pretty! :]

Camila Alves

This Kaufman Franco gown looks amazing!!! It's simple yet chic and elegant! I bet all eyes were on her and not on Matthew McConaughey, haha. :]

Hatter's Hearts Day

Okay, I know this is quite late. It's the last day of February tomorrow and only now am I posting what I wore on Valentine's day (or the Saturday before, actually, haha). I thought other things were more interesting and decided to publish those first. Anyway, I wore this to a lovely dinner with Kyle in Rockwell. And as always, he took my pictures. Thanks, Kyle! :]

It took me a while to come up with this outfit. I think I changed my tights 4 times, hahaha! I like the outcome and I love the pop of color my tights bring to an otherwise all gray outfit. The Mad Hatter top is from Forever 21's Alice in Wonderland collection. When I saw it on my last trip to the US, I knew I had to bring it home with me. I went crazy over Alice products over there. I got a headband, a bag, a set of earrings and this top, haha! Had to stop myself from buying other clothes because, really, how much  Alice does one girl need? Well, being that it is my favorite story, I really can't get enough of it, haha! It's so hard stopping myself from buying unnecessary things if they're Alice related. I'm now saving up for the book, Alice in Wonderland: A Visual Companion, which is far from unnecessary.. Oh, please be mine soon!!!

On another note, I had a photo shoot this afternoon and it was super fun! I modeled and styled and I'll tell you guys more about it once I get the go signal--which should be really soon! Enough talk! Here are my outfit shots. :]

Outfit: cardigan from PH's car, top from Forever 21, tights from Target, boots from HK

❤ Alice + Olivia

Alice + Olivia is a brand created by Stacy Bendet. She was searching for the pair of perfect pants and after designing websites for many brands, decided to make her own pants. That was the beginning of Alice + Olivia. I love the brand's soft, feminine and very wearable looks. In 2008, the brand partnered with Payless shoes. Though relatively new to producing full collections, the brand has been in business since 2002. There are quite a few dresses (from the pictures below) I can see Taylor Swift wearing, haha. I don't want to talk too much so I'll just let the clothes speak for themselves. :]

Prints and Denim

This is what I wore to school yesterday. The denim jacket was given to me by my aunt the day before and I was excited to use it, haha. I went for something casual and wore it with high waist denim shorts, a gray top from Cotton On, wedges from Parisian, and zebra printed socks from Forever 21. I've been obsessed with braiding scarves into my hair! I just never got to take pictures 'til yesterday. I like using colorful ones because they stand out better against my very black hair, haha. :]

printed scarf, paper clip necklace from Forever 21

Hype on lookbook and chictopia! :]

On another note, this is what we did in class yesterday. I presented the plate below which was our assignment. The other plate with 3 figures was our class activity. We had to play around with brush strokes, haha. We had to make them into clothes. I was so amused I made a violin brush stroke, hahaha. Forgive me. As mentioned before, I had absolutely no idea how to use photoshop before this class. I find it really fun and it's one of my favorite subjects this term. I still have much to do so that's it for now! :]

Trend Spotting Tuesday

My week begins every Tuesday because SoFA doesn't have classes on Monday. For the past few weeks, I've been quite lazy to dress up for school. Sad, I know. Anyway, it just so happens that yesterday I wasn't and neither were my friends! :] This post is all about them and what they wore. I don't normally go trend spotting unless it's for school, but I thought I'd give it a go, haha. As you'll notice later on, I kind of forgot to ask my classmates what they were wearing, haha! Do forgive me :] I was just excited to take their outfit shots, hahaha. If you wanna see what I wore yesterday, I'll be posting it tonight. :]

My friend, Ingrid, wore the lovely wedges of her cousin! :]

Jezl wore shoes she designed for her brand, Rome! Click the link to see the shoes she sells! :]

Rafa wearing his awesome T. Swift shirt!

Patrish carrying a bag I'd love to have, haha! :]

And last but not least, we have Alyssa! Isn't simplicity really chic? :]

This go-see is for the grad show of some SoFA students. All the details can be seen below :]

Happier

This is what I wore to school last Friday. It was a really long day. I slept for an hour and a half the night before trying to finish some projects. Then later that day, I found out  that the class (yup, the one I stayed up for) was cancelled. At least I got to leave school earlier than usual I guess, haha.  And at least my plates are done now so I won't have to worry about them anymore, haha. That's me trying to stay positive, hahaha. Anyway, I'm wearing a thrifted floral dress, a knit cardigan I bought from my classmate's "store" (otherwise known as PH's car, haha), socks from Forever 21, clogs from Janylin, and a feather necklace from Charlotte Russe.

Candid photo taken when I was putting on the cardigan. I had no idea Patricia was taking pictures of me when I was doing that, haha! Thanks for the photos, Pat!! ❤

Wearing the cardigan. I know my eyes look closed but they really weren't, haha.
Hype on lookbook and chictopia! :]

Pretty Nico, who also bought her top from PH's car!

And her gorgeous shoes!!

In the classroom with Tippy and Nico! If we weren't in a fashion school it'd be weird to have a full size mirror in a classroom, haha! :]

My day ended with dinner at my Tito/Uncle's house because it was his birthday. Mom also brought home our brand new scanner that day! Yay! This will make doing future projects somewhat easier. :]

I got the title of this post from a song by A Fine Frenzy called Happier. It's actually a sad song and I'm far from sad now but I couldn't think of anything else to use, haha! Have a happy Sunday, everyone! :]

Touches the stricken, cold and clinical
What a transformation to behold
But I don't like this new, I want the old
