The Mock Turtle's Story

Seeeee! Post is up! Maybe not as early as I hoped or as early as you expected but it's up!! HAHA. Had a long day in school.. But than again it's like this every Tuesday. It was tiring but fun! Gotta say, I'm pretty excited to start sewing some things! It's a nice feeling :]

Part of the reason it took me so long to publish  this entry is I couldn't figure out a title. Yup, coming up with titles isn't something I'm good at. Actually, while typing this I still haven't come up with one, haha. I'm rambling.

This is the final look from the shoot I had with Kyle for my Fashion Conceptualization class last term! You can check out the first two here and here! :]

Tomorrow

I know I haven't been a consistent blogger the past few months. So much has been going on and I really had to prioritize those things. You can expect more photos from this set tomorrow! And I mean that because I'm already uploading them now to make it easier to post tomorrow! :]

I just felt like I needed to give a little update on some things I said I'd be doing earlier this year. Remember my reading, crafts and illustration project? I know I haven't been blogging about them. My bad. Haha. I have been sewing multiple things every single week this year, haha. I'm pretty sure that by the end of this year, I'd have done more than 52 crafts. We're halfway through the year and I've already sewed and made more than 40 things and I have a bunch of orders and projects lined up so I don't think I'll be stopping anytime soon. True most of the things I've been making are for Bunny Snarl, but since all my little creatures are designed from scratch and handmade with love I still count those as craft projects!

Art: Peony Yip

Loved these from the moment I saw them so i thought I'd share them here. :] All images via I Need a Guide.

Gray and Navy

One of my favorite color palettes. I always wear these colors on lazy days, which also happen to be school days since I normally don't feel like dressing up for school. Also, it's pretty obvious that I practically live in boots. I wear them nearly everyday! They're just too comfortable to resist.

This is one of my favorite jackets because I love the print and the sleeves. Fine. That's unfair. It's one of my favorites because I made it. HAHA. Really, really happy with how it turned out! It's extremely comfortable. Second time I used that word in this post. I guess you all know where my style is at right now, hahahaha. I really do love the oversized and way too long sleeves-- which is also why I love wearing oversized cardigans, sweaters and jackets that are meant for guys.

Yolanda Moon: Feature and Gig

Yolanda Moon is featured on spot.ph's 10 Local Acts You Don't Know But Should list! You can read about that here. So happy for them!! And proud of Kyle :]

Also, if you haven't had the chance to see them perform, you can catch them this Saturday! Details here and on the poster below! Come on :D You know you wannaaaa! :>

Check out their facebook, twitter and soundcloud! :]

This time I've proven to you
I've proven that I was better, that I was
Better than my past

- Path, Yolanda Moon

Bracelet for Ally

Not so sure if you remember this entry, but here's a closer look at that bracelet I made for Ally! I do love the color combinations on this one.

Enter the Rabbit Hole

This is my 300th entry! Crazy! I know that isn't a lot for a blog that's been up for a year and a half but that's a lot for me! Thank you so so much to everyone who has read or visited this blog! Means a lot :]

Anyway, remember that entry I did for my finals? Well, this is part 2! I haven't worn these boots or this hat since shooting this.. Hmmm, I guess I should change that! Maybe I'll wear them on Friday.

Fifi Lapin

I believe I made this in either February or March. This was my craft for week.. I forget. Forgive me. Haha. Made this Fifi Lapin case for Ingrid! Sad how I just got back from Singapore and didn't get to see her while I was there. My fault though. We were incredibly busy I completely forgot to let her know where I was staying.. :\ Yes, I've been incredibly forgetful the past few weeks. I think I need a Remembrall! Sorry, still on a Harry Potter high, hahaha! This case was super fun to create and is one of my favorites to date!

Fox and Wolf (Again)

Today was crazy. Must get some sleep and let my body rest after a really long and tiring but oh so fun day! Saw the Harry Potter and Andy Warhol exhibits at the ArtScience Museum (and a bunch of other things but let's talk HP first :D)! Went CRAZY. For real. Harry Potter. Ahh. I'll stop. Actually, no. The souvenir shop after the exhibit was amazing. If only I could get every single thing...

I'll write about that and my trip in another entry! For now, I shall say goodnight with these photos of four little creatures and a Wolf camera bag I made for sweet Hanna. :]

Daisy

I know I should've posted this earlier but I was busy packing. Leaving for Singapore tomorrow! Should be a really fun week :D Harry Potter exhibit! AHHH!!

I still got some packing to do but let's talk a little bit about what I'm wearing. I wore this sometime last term. So maybe around late March/early April. And I'm guessing I was tired hence the blank look. The best photo of the bunch is the first one. Love that detail shot :] thanks for taking it, Kyle!

Also, I used to think black and brown together was weird. HA. Guess I don't think that anymore. But I really do only wear black every so often. I gravitate towards grays and blues but I'm pretty sure I don't need to explain that anymore, hahaha.

Puppets from Kyle

I can't believe I haven't posted these sweet little things yet.. I really thought I did already. Probably because they were taken at the same time Kyle shot product shots for Bunny Snarl and I posted all of those already. Anyway, aren't they adorable??? They make me smile! Kyle got them for me when he was in Vietnam. :] He took some really awesome pictures over there and I'll post them here soon enough!

I just realized I have so many things that need to be shared on this blog-- too many projects I haven't shown you guys, too many late outfit entries. I must really do something about that!

Anyway, I have to get back to sewing some orders (still can't believe I'm getting orders for Bunny Snarl!! God is good!). Click read more to see the puppets more clearly! Don't you just love all the pretty patterns on them? And oh my goodness. It's a bunny. Such a cute little thing. I die every time I see it. The elephant is awesome too but you know me. I have a thing for bunnies ;]

I am rambling. Enough. Must get back to work! I also have to get my stuff ready for my pattern making class tomorrow!

Chili Pepper Skirt

This skirt is one of my favorites! I don't really like black but the print is just too cute. Wore this sometime in April when Ally and I gave a little talk at Operation Blessing for our NSTP class.

Curiouser and Curiouser

So, so excited that I am finally sharing these photos with you! This shoot was for my Fashion Conceptualization finals. Chose 3 different points of inspiration, came up with a moodboard, did some designs and then styled this shoot to show the feel of my brand and how the designs could possibly turn out if they were produced. Maybe I'll show you those things next time! For now, let's focus on this set. Got two more outfits to share with you from this shoot. Photos by the awesome Kyle (who arrived today! yaaaay! :DD) and makeup by Jireh, one of my closest friends from school. I think it's weird that I don't really have pictures of us to share with you guys but we might shoot next week so I'll probably have something to show you in the near future (I hope. I know I'm always late :[ haha)

Anyway, more pictures after the jump! :] Can anyone guess one of my inspirations? It's pretty obvious (from the title and all.. HAHA) :]

Some photos by Kyle

Here are some pictures Kyle took a few months ago. He's coming back from Europe this week! Excited to see all the photos he took! Will be sure to share some of them with you guys :] Check out his flickr, soundcloud and Yolanda Moon's fb page. :]

Friendship Bracelets

So much to do tonight.. Gotta finish packing for our trip tomorrow, design some things for Bunny Snarl customers and list down a bunch of ideas I have for my blog! I'm actually looking forward to working at the beach, haha.

Anyway, made these bracelets during week 10, I believe. Sorry. Haven't been keeping track of what I've been making and when I made them. But glad to say, I have definitely made something (actually more than one thing) for all weeks of the year so far. But I haven't been drawing every week. Haha. Oh, well. I'll try to draw more! But I don't know if I'll still post them. We'll seeeee!

Better pictures of the bracelets after the jump, so click read more! :]

Hello there, Ally!

I finally get to introduce you all to Ally tonight! She's one of my best friends and I really should've posted these photos a longggggggggg time ago. We wore this when we watched The Hunger Games with Kyle (who took these pictures before the movie. Thankooo :D), Niro and Yani! Yup, that long ago. We watched it on its first week of showing too. So it was really that long ago. Hahaha.

Funny story about these outfits. Ally and I wore the tops we're using here at the same time (again) last month. April 20th to be exact. Okay, fine. That wasn't funny.. But it really did happen! Sadly, she lost her shirt that same day when she changed into her outfit for her first fashion show so I guess we won't get to wear them together for a third time.

Bunny Snarl in Instagram

Some photos I shared on instagram. Follow me (username: misspixiedust)? :D LSP (Lumpy Space Princess) has got to be my favorite Adventure Time character! Who do you guys like? :] Please do leave a comment! I love reading those! :] Anyway, if you keep reading, you'll see another character from Adventure Time, one from The Avengers and my little narwhals in the making, haha! I'm a busy busy bee. And it looks like there'll be no sleeping for me til I get everything done!

Bunny Snarl: Turtles and Narwhals

Here are a few other things I'll be selling at Unload this Friday and Saturday! :] Click the link for more on the event and please like my facebook page! It'd really mean a lot! :]

Turtles will forever be close to my heart ❤ Been drawing these things since I was a kid. And well, narwhals are pretty cool. My sister asked me what they were and I said they were unicorn whales, hahahaha. I have a bunch of these sweet little creatures who are just waiting for you to take them home! :] Keep reading for more photos!

Bunny Snarl

So this is what's been keeping me busy! Been making a bunch of different things for Unload! Unload is a bazaar by Happy Nappy that will be happening this Friday and Saturday (May 18-19) at Enderun Colleges from 3pm to 12mn. Please be there and support my brand Bunny Snarl! :] It would mean oh so much to me!

Bunny Snarl is something I've been wanting to do for a while now. I've been designing and making customized cases for friends and family. I also made a bunch of keychains to give away as gifts last Christmas. I knew I wanted to take this somewhere but I wasn't sure how to do this and what I would call it. I've been working on this since December last year and with a lot of prayer and advice from some important people, it finally came together! Couldn't be happier about it! :] Bunny Snarl still has a long way to go and needs improvement here and there but I'm glad I can now share it with all of you! :] Hope you'll all stay along for its journey!

Anyway, these are just a few of the cases I've been making! You can see more photos if you click read more :> Will upload photos of the keychains I've been making in another entry for tomorrow. :]

As always, photos by the awesome Kyle who is in Rome right now on a photography job! :] Proud of you! More on that in another entry :]

Blues, Creams, Browns and Smurfs

Here's another late outfit post! This was taken I can't even remember when one Friday some weeks ago at Mercato. Accompanied Kyle to a meeting he had with some of his friends. Because there was decent lighting, Kyle was able to take some outfit shots! I remember wanting to shoot this earlier that afternoon but we had a bunch of other things to do and didn't have time to squeeze it in. By the time we were free, the sun was gone. :[ Oh, well! Guess it worked out. Gotta try new things (and new shooting locations) every now and then! Oh, and look at that first photo above! Sometimes my hair is nice and cooperates with me! I wish my hair looked like that everyday, haha.

Norma Jeane

Remember this inspiration post I did waaaaay back? Well, Marilyn Monroe was included there because of this midterm project. Only got around to posting it now. Haha doesn't it seem like I always say that? Heeheehee. Anyway, if you keep reading you'll see the moodboard I made (which includes an awesome picture taken by Kyle!) and clearer photos of the designs I came up with!

Summer

And after weeks of no outfit updates, I am finally posting one! Thanks for the photos, Kyle! >:D< I wore this outfit to dinner with Kyle and his family on his birthday last month. March 1st to be exact. Another delayed outfit post. You guys can be expecting more of these soon!

I've missed blogging. It felt really weird not being able to update this little space of mine as often as I'd like to. I'll still be busy within the next couple of weeks but this will be a fun kind of busy! I'm going into production mode! Gotta design a couple of things tonight and tomorrow then buy materials on Wednesday! Excited :D Tell you more about it when I can. :]

How are you guys spending your summer? :] Please do share!

Week 9: Herbie

Just one more presentation tomorrow and then I will be done!!! YES! Got to catch up on some MUCH needed sleep last night. Thank You, Jesus! I also have time to blog! Yaaaaay! Finally! :] I will soon make up for my tiny break from blogging. Okay, not so tiny. But whatever! I am back! :D

Soon.

These photos and a WHOLE lot more coming your way in the next few weeks! I will finally be free after April 30th. As you can probably tell from my little blog break, finals take forever when you're a fashion student. It's all just so time consuming but I am definitely learning so much! Really challenging myself to be more creative. Took 10 minutes out of my incredibly busy night for this little entry right here cos not posting anything for weeks kind of upsets me! Just one more week and I will get all my lost sleep back! Yay! Back to work now! Hope the rest of you are enjoying summer break (even if it's unbearably hot) and/or your weekend!

Month 3: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

This book by Lewis Carroll has got to be one of my favorite reads! I try to read it once every year. It's always so entertaining and it never gets old. If you have time, you might want to try and read it yourself! :] It's a really fun and easy book to read!

Chum Leeeeeeeeeeee

Here's that other Chum Lee entry I promised to post last week, I think. He's soooo cute!!!! And I am proud to say that I took most of these photos, hahaha! I think all except the ones with me in them, of course. :]

Weekly Inspiration

I've been extremely busy with final projects lately and barely have any time left for blogging. :[ Gotta beat those deadlines and all. Prayer and Grace are the only reasons I'm pulling through. Time management and discipline are two things I need right now. But sometimes they escape me, haha. Like last night. I was super tired I ended up falling asleep... Don't you hate it when that happens? Funnily enough, this term's finals are pretty brutal but I actually like what I'll have to submit. So even though the next few weeks might will be crazy for me, I think I'll still enjoy it. Thank You, Jesus! :]

Week 8 and 9: Fox and Wolf

Finally posting these cases I made some weeks ago! Extremely happy with how these turned out because unlike the other cases I've made (people give me designs and I sketch them out) I designed these two animals myself! :D Success! Haha. These cases were made for Miss Fox herself, Hanna, and her boyfriend! She said that they both love the cases so hurrah! She's asked me to make her a fox camera case so I'll be working on that soon! Also, these photos were all taken by her! Thanks again, Hanna!!! :D

Chum Lee Again!

Shot these photos a few weeks ago with Kyle. We were supposed to be doing an outfit shoot but I decided to take Chum Lee along and it quickly became a Chum Lee shoot, haha! I don't mind one but cos he's super duper cute! Just look at himmmmm! Don't you wanna play with him and hug him??

Weekly Inspiration

Been swamped with work lately so here are some of the things that keep me going. :]

Yolanda Moon

As you can tell from the awesome poster made by the awesome Niro, it's the launch of Yolanda Moon on April 4th! That's already next Wednesday! But if you're curious and wanna see them before that, they have an event on March 29th (this Thursday). Check it out over here! If you wanna know more about the band, keep reading. :D

Week 7: Mad Hatter

A little something I never got to post. Figured it'd be better for me to post this before I start posting works from weeks after this, haha! Forgive the bad quality photos. These are just Photo Booth pictures.

Month 2: A Storm of Swords

This post is embarrassingly late. What's even worse is I haven't actually finished the book yet.. After all, I am only human, haha. Tried to do some crazy speed reading but a story as good as this deserved better than that. So many things happened in this book and some of those things, well, let's just say I couldn't move on and get on with the story, hahaha. Yes, it's true. It's very personal to me, hahaha. I wish I could really talk about it but I won't because season 2 of Game of Thrones is coming out in 11 days! Yup, I just checked my calendar and literally counted the days, haha (my brain is too tired from working on midterm papers). Having just said that, I highly doubt any of you would want spoilers, haha. But gosh. WHY. just. WHYYYYY. WHYYY. That's all I can say. Haha.

I've been extremely busy with school and orders (still can't believe that people actually like the things I make that they would actually buy from me, haha!) sooo sadly that means I haven't had a lot of time to read. Sad. No worries though, I'm finishing up this book already. Most of it was read in February sooo it's still my month 2 book! HAHA.

Green

I cannot believe that I didn't write an outfit post for my blog for about 2 weeks. Kyle and I have both been extremely busy and finding time to shoot and edit photos was a problem. This is my last set from 2011! After this, all outfits will be from this year! :] Hurrah! K. March is already ending and I'm only moving on to 2012 outfits now, hahaha.

Weekly Inspiration

Tried to post this last Monday but I really couldn't because all my time was devoted to my midterms. Nearly done with all of them! Just two more to deal with! I'll try to blog more this week to make up for the lack of posts this month! Haha. :] But let's focus on this week's inspiration post first! :]

Fall 2012: Alexander McQueen

Andddd here is that other collection I was talking about!! Gah. One of my favorites this season! So amazing! Everything's perfect-- from the overall looks to all the tiny little details. The colors are quite awesome too!

Fall 2012: Viktor & Rolf

I don't think I ever had a whole week with no updates on my blog. I had lots of entries drafted but those only had pictures and I really had no time to write. :[ Sorry about that! Was hard at work on my midterm projects and all my homework. Had to set my priorities and school definitely came before blogging. I'm extremely happy with how my work turned out and I can't wait to show it to all of you! :] I still have two more midterms to finish this week but they won't be as time consuming! The other one is a practical exam for Advanced Draping so I won't even need to prepare for that, haha! How I've missed writing these entries!

Fall 2012: Gianfranco Ferré

Last post of the night then I gotta improve some sketches and scan them. Sooo much work to be done. I wish I could just stare at all these photos and call that work because they are gorgeous. I guess what I'm loving about this past fashion week is pretty obvious through all my posts, hahaha. Except for the Moschino one. Had to change it up a bit since oversized coats and everything aren't the only thing I'm loving this season! This is actually one of my favorites this time around. Everything looks so chic and polished but it still has some roughness to it. Love!!

Fall 2012: Moschino

Midterms, midterms, midterms. Lezdothis. Needed to take a breather from all the research I've been doing. I've still got loads of work waiting for me and only 2-4 days (depending on the subject) to finish everything. I'll definitely get everything done with a whole lot of prayer and a whole lot of not sleeping, haha. Anyway, figured writing for my blog would be a little productive break so here I am. This collection by Moschino is spectacular! So costume-y and lively but a lot of the pieces are actually quite wearable. Gotta love that!

Week 8: Fall 2011 Girls

I'm posting something I drew from Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2011. Two whole seasons ago! Haha. Was in the mood to draw that day and I had my Vogue Paris Collections Fall 2011 issue out so I decided to choose two looks and copy them. I love drawing like this and I'm having a hard time drawing a proper fashion croquis now, hahahaha. Oh, well. Not my style anyway!

UNESTABLISH.COM New Arrivals: Veira Bags

UNESTABLISH.COM is pleased to announce the addition of Singapore bag label Veira to the expanding number of local brands it carries.

Unestablish.com

Some of you might be wondering what that banner above my header is all about! It's this awesome online boutique called UNESTABLISH.COM. They carry brands like KLING, Mink Pink, Free People, Finders Keepers, Sundays, and many many more! Keep reading if you want to know more about it! Come on! You know you dooooo ;]

Weekly Inspiration

Here's a little something to cheer you up-- especially if you've been feeling a bit sick like me!

Fall 2012: Topshop Unique

I wish they had Topshop Unique in the Philippines. These pieces are to die for. Hello, gorgeous color palette! I have this thing right now for that specific shade of green so I went crazy when I saw this. Maybe you can tell from all the collections I've been posting that I'm kinda into this oversized coat and jacket trend! The layering here is also superb. Pretty, pretty, pretty!

Fall 2012: Mary Katrantzou

Mary Katrantzou has quickly become one of my favorite designers. Every single season of fashion week I find myself anticipating the release of her next collection. She never ever fails to amaze me. The prints, silhouettes, and techniques she uses are genius. Oh, how I would love to see her dresses in person. Yup, even just seeing them would make me happy. Just so I could marvel at all the details. Sigh.

It's Someone's Birthdaaaaay!

Happy, happy birthday, Kyle!!!! >:D< I think it's only fitting that I post this outfit since you took the photos and you gave me that baseball shirt. I borrowed your beanie for this one too, hehe. Also, we were kinda matching that day, don't you think? :]

Week 7: Eyes

Some watercolor illustrations I had to do for my Mixed Media class! This class is actually quite fun. Our professor encouraged us to play with colors and that is exactly what I did.

Week 7: Polymer Clay Accessories

Here's a little something I had to make for my Mixed Media class in SoFA. This is the activity I've enjoyed the most so far. I really like making crafty things and this was super duper fun! And cute, I might add. Heehee.
